Brief: Our client wanted to make the most of the view and natural light while providing the necessary privacy to her kitchen and snug.
The living and dining open plan space has unique 7.5 metre wide glass and patio doors. This is technically challenging as the width of the curtains becomes unmanageable when sewing. Thankfully we have very talented seamstresses who support us well in achieving beautiful results in these difficult situations.
The client had already decided on a cool, restful scheme in harmony with the penthouse views. To complement the plain linen upholstery fabrics we looked for a patterned fabric. The Toiles de Mayenne Traviata in turquoise was perfect! The fabric brings the room together, its silvery sheen plays to the reflective surfaces of the chrome and glass and balances the linen textures of the upholstery. A great contemporary ikat type pattern the Traviata is eye catching without overpowering the room.
