What are bottom up blinds?

Bottom-up blinds – also known as pull-up blinds or upside-down blinds – offer a smart and stylish way to control light and privacy from the bottom of your window upwards.

Unlike traditional roller blinds that lower from the top, bottom-up blinds are installed at the base of the window and pulled upward using cords on either side. The cords run through pulleys fitted at the top of the frame and are secured neatly on a side cleat.

Each blind features a spring-loaded roller mechanism that keeps the fabric smooth and tensioned, ensuring a clean, elegant look at any height.

Perfect for ground-floor rooms or street-facing windows, bottom-up blinds allow you to enjoy natural light while maintaining privacy where it is needed most.

Advantages of pull up blinds

Pull-up blinds offer the perfect balance between privacy and natural light. Installed to rise from the bottom of the window, they allow you to shield your interior from outside view while still letting in maximum daylight through the uncovered top section.

You can adjust the blind to any height, giving you complete control over the level of light and privacy throughout the day. This makes pull up blinds a versatile and elegant solution for rooms where both comfort and brightness matter.

Which fabrics can you use?

The great news is that any of our roller blind fabrics can be used for pull up or bottom-up blinds. Here’s a quick guide to help you choose:

  • Voile fabrics – Perfect for maximising natural light in a room. Keep in mind that they may not provide full privacy at night.
  • Dim-out fabrics – Ideal for privacy both in the day as well as the everning, while still allowing plenty of light to filter in during the day.
  • Blackout fabrics – Excellent for bedrooms or media rooms. You can lower the blind halfway down the window to let light in while covering the bottom, then raise it fully at night for more darkness.

This flexibility allows you to tailor your blinds to suit your lifestyle, light preferences, and privacy needs.
