This modern light filled lounge in central London has double height windows. We used motorised curtain tracks to operate the voiles hanging over 6.5 metres tall.

There is a common misconception that to have motorised blinds or curtains requires an electrician or is best done during the building stage to avoid an unsightly mess of wires. But Somfy’s new battery-operated motors are more quiet and easy to install than ever before, making motorised blinds and curtains possible in any home or flat.

The new Junior RollUp 30 WF RTS and Sonesse ULTRA WF RTS motors from Somfy have the batteries embedded within the lifting mechanism, so the final roller blind or roman blind will look no different to a traditional blind but is free from any dangling cords or chains. Even better, you can control them at the push of a button or via an app.

Motorised voile roller blinds and blackout roman blinds suit the elegant, fuss free look of this west London Master bedroom.
