It’s also possible to buy blinds that are voice controlled, which can make life even easier – particularly if you’ve got mobility concerns to take into account.

 

How do automated blinds work?

These types of blinds come with a motor that’s hidden away in the component that makes the blind go up or down. In roman blinds, this motor is stored in the headrail, while in roller blinds it can be found in the roll.

A power source is required to make them operate, whether that’s a set of batteries or a plug and socket. You can also opt to have your blinds hardwired in if building work is required.
