Toiles de Mayenne – Striped Fabric for Curtains and Roman Blinds in London home

Toiles de Mayenne Striped Fabric for Curtains London

Toiles de Mayenne Striped Fabric for Curtains and Roman Blinds in London home – Living Room

It’s hard to believe we are already celebrating the first anniversary of our partnership with Toiles de Mayenne. The beautiful Toiles de Mayenne fabrics have been woven in France since 1806. Striped fabrics are a particular speciality. Given the context, this is the perfect opportunity to share with you a recent design example using the same fabric with subtle variations in colour across different rooms for different types of windows in the same home. The result – a lively, breezy cohesion that is very contemporary.

Starting with the living room, the main street-side window has beautiful stained glass detailing. The effect is enhanced by the yellow Mojito curtains with the non-geometric stripe. At the other end of the room (the study area), you can see how the same fabric in the same colour is used on the smaller window. This time, Mojito is made up as a Roman blind which stacks up neatly when not in use.

Moving on to the kitchen, the main feature is the bifold doors leading invitingly out into the garden. We want to show them off as much as possible during daylight while affording a cosy privacy at night. In this case, the made to measure curtains are Mojito Grey, the same striped fabric as we used in the living room but a different colour. The texture and the tone of the fabric along with the non-geometric, quirky stripe adds a subtle elegance and a softness to the room, while framing the bifold doors beautifully.

Mojito is a delightful, contemporary cotton mix fabric with a funky, almost cheeky, stripe. During the past year, it has proved to be a big favourite among our London customers. Highly versatile, Mojito can be used, as you can see, for both curtains and roman blinds.

Toiles de Mayenne fabrics are exclusive to Prêt à Vivre within the Greater London area. If you are interested in striped fabric for curtains and / or for Roman blinds for your home, we have many more exciting styles, colours and textures at our London showrooms. Pop in to see them for yourself at Notting Hill, Islington, Muswell Hill or Fulham.
