Stylish Flat in Iconic BBC Television Centre Project
The BBC Television Centre in White City has been reconverted as a lifestyle hub with modern flats.
Our customer was looking for a smart style with a sheen to suit the marble and wooden floors in place.
The windows are large and allow plenty of light so we opted for voile roller blinds in Texas Voile to avoid glare when working from home and for privacy in the bedrooms. The blinds were paired with class twin pleat curtains appropriate for the building’s heritage as well as the contemporary look inside the home. We hung the curtains from ceiling fit tracks that accentuates the great ceiling height.
The open plan layout of the flat makes the front entrance a continuous part of the flat and our client wished to gain some privacy by installing a divider. We used a self-lined Linen Chintz in White hung from a slim 19mm diameter hollow-wrought iron pole. The curtain looks fantastic from either side as it is lined in the same fabric. Using a tie-back keeps it flexible so the curtain can be neatly tucked to one side or pulled closed to create a cosy entrance.
Brief:
Get the right balance between privacy and daylight while complementing the natural textures of the wood and marble.
