Curtains For A Rather Elegant Bay Window – London SW18
For our customer in London SW18, we suggested this great, cost effective way to dress a bay window. The hollow, wrought iron bay pole is a neat but effective hanging solution for a bay window. Passing brackets in the corner allow special rings shaped like big C’s to easily pass over the brackets. Note that we fitted this pole with extension brackets so that the curtains would hang clear of the radiator cover which is projecting by 13 cm.
The curtains are made in Lugano, our 100% cotton fabric priced at under £30 per metre but which looks and hangs like a fabric twice its price! The inverted pleat heading gives it a clean contemporary look, similar to a Wave heading but with a slightly softer appearance.
The combination of the curtains with the café-style shutters is a very popular look. The half shutters give day time privacy with a contemporary look. The curtains create a more cosy and homely ambience – and will prevent noise resonance when you have too many hard surfaces in one room – e.g wooden floors, walls and wood shutters. Wood shutters covering the whole of the window can be very cold in the winter as they do not provide as much thermal insulation.
We love this window treatment and our customer is thrilled too with her elegant curtains! Visit the Prêt à Vivre reviews page to read more feedback from our customers.
