Having previously provided made to measure curtains for the living room, we were asked back to consult on made to measure curtains for the master bedroom.
In this North London home in Highbury N5, the master bedroom is painted in Farrow and Ball Oval Room Blue and has two windows close together. The brief was to create a very peaceful and serene atmosphere and originally the thinking was to go for a blue-toned fabric to match the wall colour.
Together with our client, we went through the various colours and textures of fabrics that we thought would work and in the end, we settled on Anais Lichen. It was chosen for the way it enhances the beautiful wall colour. Anais is a highly textured, random dyed yarn that comes in 16 nature-inspired colours. Lichen has gorgeous subtle flecks of blue dotted randomly throughout the fabric so it is a really perfect for choice for complementing the walls. The mix of colour (as opposed to one solid colour) inherent in this random dyed fabric creates a softer, more fluid effect, all adding to the serenity of the bedroom.
To complete the window dressing we suggested including voile roller blinds for privacy and this idea was readily taken on board. The voile for the roller blind is made with Texas Natural.
