Our client is based in the beautiful waterside residences of Battersea Reach, Wandsworth SW18. Being a contemporary London apartment that allows in lots of glorious light during the day, our challenge was how to create that warm, cosy feeing in the living room as winter draws in with its dark nights. We wanted to achieve this without in any way impeding the flow of wonderful light into the apartment through the very large windows.

Our Wandsworth Bridge Road showroom got to work. For contemporary apartments with fabulous views such as those in riverside locations like Battersea Reach, large floor to ceiling windows are integral part of the look and feel of these spaces. In this style of living space with lots of large glazed areas, we find that neat, flexible roller blinds are just ideal.

Once in place, you can use the roller blinds to add an extra dimension of interest to your living space. In addition to filtering out the sun which is very low in the sky at this time of year, you can experiment with positioning the roller blinds at differing heights to give a more layered look and feel to the room.

You could also think about automation for your roller blinds. Roller blinds can be electronic so you can easily operate them either individually or together on one remote control.
