4 Top Tips For Making Curtains Look Even More Luxurious

Now, you might well think that your curtain choice at home isn’t really all that important but get it wrong and you’re sure to notice immediately. But get it right and you’re sure to thank yourself for an eternity!

Because they’re so wide and expansive, the windows to the rooms of your house are usually what is noticed first when entering a space, so it’s essential that you choose the most beautiful treatments that the budget will allow to ensure that you show them off at their best.

However, there are a few little tricks of the trade you can employ that will help give your curtains an instant lift if that’s what you’re looking to do, allowing you to make them look and feel even more luxurious, without having to break the bank.Don’t believe us? Have a quick read of these top secret strategies to see if any of them might work well for the curtains at home. Which of these looks are you excited by?

Invest in oversize curtain hardware

Successful curtains and drapes aren’t just about the fabric, colour and pattern, and you might be surprised at just how beautiful the effect can be simply by changing up the hardware for something more substantial and sophisticated.

Instead of a rustic wooden pole, for example, what about bringing in something textured, something brass or gold, something with some statement designs at the end of the rods? You can make a serious impact very quickly indeed with a few little changes like this. And remember… the thicker and heavier your curtains are, the bigger your hardware can be!

Add a curtain border

It can be a bit daunting to consider having patterned curtains hung up if you’re not particularly confident in your interior design skills as of yet, but you can dip a toe in the water by opting for bordered curtains instead.

Choose your favourite plain fabric and add in some bolder borders around the edges to help bring the room to life. What a great way to introduce yourself to pattern and start being a bit braver with your interior style ideas.

Create some weight

There’s nothing more annoying than a set of curtains that just won’t hang properly. It can really ruin the aesthetics of your living spaces. But you can get around this easily by cutting into the bottom of the curtains and adding in a flat weight before sewing them back up. Before you know it, your curtains will never look untidy again.

Consider some layers

Layering up your curtains really lends a luxurious air to proceedings at home while keeping costs to a minimum. Perhaps try hanging some sheer curtains over your heavier drapes, allowing the lengths to puddle on the floor a little… a beautiful look for a bedroom or living room, that’s for sure and certain.
