3 Colour Trends For 2025

We’re heading into the latter part of the year now and it’s the perfect time to slow down, take stock and start thinking about what changes we can ring in for 2025… and what better way to embrace the start of a new chapter than by freshening up our interior design schemes at home?

Of course, you can go all out and change absolutely everything from top to bottom, but that will likely get expensive and be incredibly time-consuming, so if you’re looking for a quick win, what about switching out some of your colour palettes and breathing new life into your home that way?

There are all sorts of new and exciting colour combinations coming to the fore over the next 12 months and if you do your research now, you’ll be ready to rock and roll for some decorating fun come January.

To help you get started with your redecorating ambitions, here are just some of the top colour trends that experts predict will be making waves over the coming 12 months. Which of these do you think would work well at home?

True Joy

Dulux

The folk in the know over at Dulux have named its Colour of the Year for 2025 as True Joy, a bright, positive and uplifting shade of yellow that aims to bring imagination, pride and optimism to both living and working spaces.

Speaking to Dezeen, senior colour designer Dawn Scott said the colour is all about encouraging people to step outside their comfort zone and embrace confidence.

She added: “This year, our global trend forecast highlighted three major trends: the excitement of making a joyful leap into the unknown, the celebration of handmade craftsmanship and the re-embrace of heritage.

“These themes have informed our choice of True Joy, along with the colour yellow more generally, creating a collection that helps you design spaces where people can feel inspired to pursue new horizons, connect with human creativity and feel rooted in their identities.”

Future Dusk

WGSN/Coloro

Fancy something a little more on the moody side? Future Dusk could be the right choice for you, named by WGSN and Coloro as their colour for 2025.

Apparently, this intriguing shade sits somewhere between blue and purple, delivering a sense of escapism and mystery while working well with classic styles and investment pieces. Those of you on the hunt for a versatile and gender-inclusive colour might find exactly what you’re looking for right here.

Rumours

Behr

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a luxurious and sophisticated touch for your interiors, you might want to check out Rumours, California-based paint company Behr’s top pick for colour in 2025.

Apparently, this is a deeper take on the classic red, complete with brown and ruby undertones that give it a sense of playfulness without making it feel childish.

As vice-president of colour and creative services Erika Woelfel describes: “It’s approachable, it’s inspirational, it has great energy and it’s tremendously versatile.”

So there you have it! Three great colourways to consider using in interior design schemes over the next 12 months. If you’d like to see if we have any curtains that match with these shades, get in touch with the Pret A Vivre team today.
