Brief: Our client required a complete makeover of the windows in their property. They wanted the theme throughout the house to be in keeping with the age of the property, but with a cool toned palette to complement the existing furnishings.
Living Room/kitchen: this space is such a magnificent space the curtains and blinds could only play a small supporting role. The clients understood that pattern fabric on all these windows would be too dominant and liked the suggestions of a textured fabric; Poligny II Shale brought in the slightly blue/green tones in the furniture and looks good both as curtains and blinds; it also worked going into the kitchen which is open plan to the living room.
The Dining Room had the feel of the poor cousin next to the glamorous vaulted ceiling of the living room so we added the wow factor with crushed velvet Sophia in Espresso lined with a black ticking to add some interest from the garden.
The guest bedroom had a curious window which was only half height; we felt that the room would look more balanced with the pole at the standard height and making floor length curtains; it has achieved the effect of taking the eye away from this small window and the attention on the beautifully embroidered linen cotton.
