We recently helped a French client, who while in France, always uses the very well-known French-based fabric house Toiles de Mayenne. Now in London, for her beautifully furnished family home in Battersea SW11, she was seeking a more local made to measure curtain service who could offer similar high standards of fabrics with a wide choice, combined with an excellent customer service and all at sensible prices.
In her own words, she came to us as we seemed to offer the same high standard of service with good quality but correctly priced fabrics. Then of course, there is the added advantage of our showroom on Wandsworth Bridge Road – which is very accessible for the Battersea / Clapham Common SW11 catchment area.
We opted for a simple elegance in helping our client choose the curtain styles and fabrics. In particular, this client likes eyelet headings which give an elegant yet uncomplicated finish.
For the living room, the curtains are Linen Chintz (a fine linen cotton mix fabric) in colours putty and white with an eyelet heading and inset top border. To complete the look, we provided matching cushions.
For the TV lounge, the curtains are Narlay (100% woven cotton sateen) in colours Taupe and Ricepaper, again with an eyelet heading and inset top border.
The result – another happy client. Needless to say, we are delighted that Prêt à Vivre is proving to be a good alternative to Toiles de Mayennes for French clients living this side of the English Channel.
